Hi!  My name is Nicki.  I have lost almost 15kg with Jenny Craig & have maintained my goal weight for 2 years now.  [from size 14 to 8, for the first time in my life!] 

Before losing my weight, I was only able to complete 5 mins on an exercise bike.  Now, I exercise every day at a gym for at least 30-45 mins & love my newfound energy & passion for health & fitness.  My husband [my biggest fan & support] & I completed the 14.7km "Run 4 the Kids" this year now ride for up to 3 hrs at a time.  This has now become my hobby.

I love the Jenny Craig program:  fantastic food, tremendous support, great learning materials about healthy eating, exercise, water,  stress & sleep (all impacting your weight-loss). 

However, weight-loss is only part 1 of your journey. The most important part - the rest of your life, is where you put into practice your learned knowledge from your sessions with your Consultant & your individual food preferences you have gained from losing weight using your own food choices.  This includes travel & on holidays. At Jenny Craig you are still supported (for up to 7 years!). This is the major factor which I believe puts Jenny Craig above all other programs I have tried. Jenny Craig continues to support you and they are only a phone call away at any time. The energy I feel every day & the commitment I have made to myself, my husband & my Consultant keeps be striving every day.  I will never look back.

In order to maintain my weight I follow the following principles, learned from Jenny Craig:

  • Everything in moderation.  Eat regularly.
  • Watch your food (portions, hidden fat), exercise, water, sleep & anxiety.
  • Enjoy life & enjoy your food.  Try new spices, flavours, low-fat dressing, chutneys or soups & adjust any recipe to become part of your maintenance kJ allowance.
  • Don't be afraid to ask at restaurants & cafes for "no dressing", "dressing on the side', or even a large salad or bowl of steamed veggies with your meal.
  • Bring salads or a fruit platter to parties, or eat something before-hand. 
  • Don't be afraid to let people know that you're on the Jenny Craig program.
  • Learn to love exercise.  Along with your new body, you will feel so energised that you will love to get out & about.
  • Share your story - it will inspire others.
  • Enjoy each & every day.  If you over-indulge, try to keep it to a minimum.
  • Understand that your weight didn't come on overnight & it won't come off overnight either.  There is no "quick-fix" that will help you in the long run
  • Enjoy the Jenny Craig food from time-to-time if you want to.  Think of it as a "treat"!  Keep some in the freezer for late work-nights.
  • Use & enjoy the Jenny Craig Cookbook.
  • Remember your support network.  Note that others may take time to adjust to the slimmer, energetic & fun-loving you.
  • Keep a "fat" photo of yourself for inspiration.
