Four New Food Items to Try This Winter

With supermarket supplies difficult to manage at the moment, it can be hard to keep your meal repertoire interesting. But don’t worry, the team at Jenny Craig have your back with four new menu items to try this winter.

Mac & Cheese

If ever there was a definition of a comfort food, Mac & Cheese would be it. Our take on this traditional meal includes al dente macaroni pasta in a creamy cheese sauce. You can keep it simple by adding in a little spring onion and a sprinkle of paprika. Or for the more adventurous, why not try adding in some sauteed mushrooms and steamed broccoli for an (almost) instant pasta bake.

Bean & Cheese Burrito

Our Bean & Cheese Burrito is back by popular demand, although we’ve made some improvements, we’re sure you’ll love. The burrito comes with the same Mexican-style mix of pinto beans, cheese and rice, although this time we’ve wrapped it in a wholemeal tortilla and made it even bigger. Enjoy this satisfying meal with a fresh coleslaw such as our Spicy Coleslaw or Crispy Coleslaw.

Chicken Cacciatore

Pasta makes for a warming winter meal and we’re sure you’ll love our Chicken Cacciatore served with penne pasta and vegetables in a rich tomato sauce. Quickly turn this tasty meal into a wholesome pasta bake by preparing the Chicken Cacciatore as per packet instructions, then stirring through spinach and extra roasted vegetables such as yellow and green capsicum and cauliflower. Place in a small oven proof dish and top with some grated low-fat cheese. Bake in the oven until cheese is melted.

Panna Cotta

Panna Cotta translates to ‘cooked cream’ in English and is a popular dish throughout Italy. Our deliciously creamy vanilla flavoured dessert will be sure to delight the taste buds and makes for the perfect after dinner treat. Add a little twist by serving with cooled stewed rhubarb using our very own Stewed Rhubarb recipe on the website.
