Tell us a bit about you and what life was like before you joined Jenny Craig:
I was active but and eating the wrong foods and too much of them. I had steadily put on 20kgs over 20 years. I am only 5 feet tall so 20kgs is ALOT for my height.
Why did you decide to join Jenny Craig?
I needed to move the 20kgs and I knew I couldn’t do it without help. My parents and a few other family members revealed they were Type 2 diabetic or borderline and I knew that would be me in 5 to 10 years if I didn’t do something about it now.
Can you describe your experience on the Jenny Craig program?
The support given by Julie my Consultant and the whole team at Kotara was second to none. I was determined I would gain my goal but there were times it was rough and I couldn’t have done it without their encouragement and Julie’s stern hand.
Do you have any favourite items from the Jenny Craig menu?
I loved treats like cheesy popcorn and the chocolate ice cream but the Chicken Schnitzel was a favourite and I had to fight my teen daughter for the meat pie!
Tell us me about your Jenny Craig Consultant?
Julie was my Food Mum. She guided me through major events, weekends away and Christmas. Her easy to understand interpretations of food labels and her reiterated use of the Grocery Guide were keys to my success.
How do you feel now that you’ve lost the weight?
I feel wonderful. I can run faster, I have heaps more strength to carry out my activities like water skiing and Pole Fitness and clothes shopping is no longer something to fear, but to enjoy.
Do you have a standout moment on the Jenny Craig program you’d like to share?
Coming in on what I hoped would be my “last weigh-in” and seeing the number 50 something on the scales! I had not weighed that much for 25 years and it felt so good! Trying on new work uniforms and having to ask for the size 8 and finally getting pole moves that I was too heavy and not strong enough to get previously.
