Tell us a bit about you and what life was like before you joined Jenny Craig?

I was at a point in my life where my Doctor said I needed to take my blood pressure regularly and my cholesterol was getting higher. I had plantar fasciitis in both feet and had spent thousands of dollars over a three-year period on specialist appointments. I would wake up tired and in pain. I would rarely cook and would always eat on the go, i.e. anything and everything fast. I didn’t like fruit or veggies or even dairy – anything healthy I did not like.


Why did you decide to join Jenny Craig?

I had tried every kind of weight loss product around, including medications from doctors and I didn’t want to go through surgery to lose weight. I had heard of Jenny Craig over the years but never looked into it. What I had been doing hadn’t worked and I needed to try something different and look at it as a lifestyle change as it was time to put my health first, and you can’t put a cost on your health. The only thing I had to lose was my weight.


Can you describe your experience on the Jenny Craig program?

Looking back, I have to say, to my surprise, it wasn’t that hard. It did help that for the first few months a lot of my usual food places had closed due to COVID. I took this year as the opportunity to make a difference to my health and Jenny Craig has done exactly that.


Do you have any favourite items from the Jenny Craig menu?

I love the Wholemeal Pancakes for brekkie and even substituted the milk to make the pancakes with water so I can use my ½ dairy serve as yoghurt and have strawberries with it – YUM! Love the Apple Berry Brekkie Muffin too. I used to skip breakfast all the time, but now it’s my favourite meal thanks to Jenny Craig breakfasts.


Tell us more about your Jenny Craig Consultant:

Ana has been very supportive from the beginning. She was very helpful in assisting me reach my goal and is always there if I need to check anything, whether it be via phone, email or in my weekly consults. She keeps me honest.


How do you feel now that you’ve lost the weight?

I feel like a completely new person, I have so much energy and I am happier within myself. People I work with say I am a totally different person as I have so much energy now. I used to hate clothes shopping as there were limited options, being bigger, now I must stop myself as there are so many clothes options. I also look forward to a walk in the evenings now too.


Do you have a standout moment on the Jenny Craig program you’d like to share?

Recently I was walking through a food court. I was looking at all the food in the windows looking at what I could eat if I wanted something naughty. It was like the food was screaming “Pick me! Pick me!”, something triggered in my brain and said, “no, go to Coles or Woolies and get some strawberries and yoghurt”, and I did. I have learnt not to be so impulsive when it comes to food. I also realised that FOMO (Fear Of Missing Out) isn’t real when it comes to food when on Jenny Craig. I have become more organised with my food which is now starting to flow into my life.
