Hannah has just started with Jenny Craig, find out more about why she’s partnered with us.
Tell us about yourself Hannah
I’m a Mum, I own a business and host a podcast. I’ve spent the best part of the last 12 years managing superyachts worldwide, you may know me from the TV show, Below Deck Mediterranean. 14-15 months ago, I had my little girl Ava and have spent the last year and half just watching her grow which has been amazing.
Now that Ava’s a bit older and I have a little bit of time, I want to get back to who I was before I became a mother, to get back to a place that I’m happy with myself. I think it’s very easy to lose yourself on the journey and kind of make your whole life around your child.
At the moment I feel like a mother and that’s it. My body was used to grow this beautiful human being and I haven’t quite gotten back the woman I was before. I feel like now I’m a mother I’m not the same person I was, so I would love to find a happy medium. For me, it’s about how I feel about myself, not about my body shape. Now, I want to have more energy and I want a little bit of a balance between being a Mother and old Hannah.
Why did you choose to partner with Jenny Craig?
For me, food, wine entertaining, all that is such a large part of my life, and I didn’t want to lose out on flavour or enjoying my food or being able to sit down with my partner and have a meal with him.
I had a friend that recommended Jenny Craig, she said that the she enjoyed the meals she was getting and the food she was eating, and she was satisfied, she wasn’t hungry. With Jenny Craig you can still have that day to day enjoyment of food while having that portion control.
I really like Jenny Craig firstly because of the food itself and the fact you can still enjoy your meals and secondly because of the ease of just having it delivered and knowing exactly what you’re going to eat every day. As a busy working Mum, it’s one less thing to think about, it puts your mind at ease and takes away the work.
What are you most excited about?
Meeting with my Jenny Craig coach was really nice, she tried to incorporate my real, everyday life with the plan you’re going to be on. You don’t feel judged, you don’t feel like they’re going to take all the enjoyment out of your life. You can still do those things you enjoy and just be honest with your coach makes your life so much easier. We all have our cravings and those little things that help us through the day so having that honest conversion with your coach really allows them to help you to get the best results out of the program.
Are you working to a specific goal?
I think every woman after she has a baby does the whole, I’m losing my baby weight thing but what’s really catapulted this into a priority is my wedding coming up. So, I would love to be down one dress size by the time I get married and I’ve told my wedding dress designer to be on standby as she’s going to need to alter it. That is the goal and it is going to happen.
My goal is to drop one to two dress sizes, I’ve got an amazing wardrobe that I acquired in that 12 years of travelling so there’s a few pieces in that that I’d really like to fit back into so that is definitely the goal. I’m hoping its realistic. I think whenever you start something like this your goal can seem so far away, but I think the trick is to just take every day as it comes and not be thinking about where am I going to be or how’s it going to look in two months. Just know when you wake up this morning you just need to get to the end of the day and have your goal be the end of the day.
My goal is a healthy lifestyle it’s not just about the weight and I feel like that’s something that Jenny Craig really incorporates into their plans. I am so excited to share my journey.
