What diet is right for my BMI?
Your personal body mass index (BMI) score reveals the amount of excess fat you are carrying. This will give your professional Jenny Craig Consultant valuable information for designing a perfect weight loss plan just for you. BMI is calculated according to your weight and height, offering more information than regular weigh scales. BMI can be viewed in table or chart form and is categorised as follows.
18.4 or less (underweight)
18.5 – 24.9 (healthy weight)
25.0 – 29.9 (overweight)
30.0 or more (obese)
As BMI calculates body mass and not only fat, it doesn’t provide adequate guidance for everyone. Notable BMI exceptions include body builders, pregnant women, children and the elderly. BMI is useful for the majority of overweight and obese people whose weight gain is primarily due to fatty build-up, and although initial findings may be disheartening, help is on hand with Jenny Craig at any one of our 104 Centres around Australia and New Zealand.
