Do meal plans offer a variety of foods?

The Jenny Craig weight loss meal plans offer an incredible range of calorie and portion controlled meal options, designed by nutritionists and dietitians and cooked by professional chefs. Our Consultants help you to choose a balanced diet that includes food you like to eat; including sweets, pasta and other foods that are often banned in fad diets.

For breakfast, Jenny Craig offers over a dozen meal options, including tasty savoury muffins, cereals, cooked eggs and even wholemeal pancakes.

For lunch, you can choose from hearty soups, satisfying meat pies, pasta dishes and baked potatoes with cheesy fillings.

Dinner is a gourmet delight with delicious meals like burgers, lasagne, curries and chicken parmigiana to tempt your tastebuds.

There are also snacks included in the meal options. For the sweet tooth there are chocolate puddings, and ice cream sundaes among other things, and for those who like a savoury snack, cheesy popcorn and sweet and sour chips.

Why is eating a variety of foods beneficial for your health?

Your body’s metabolism works best when you eat a range of foods, in the recommended amounts, from the five food groups. The Australian government health department also recommend eating different foods from within each food group, as different foods all have different types and amounts of key nutrients that your body needs

The five food groups are as follows:

1.    Grains - whole grain and high fibre

2.    Dairy - milk, cheese, yoghurt

3.    Fruit

4.    Vegetables

5.    Lean meats, poultry, fish, nuts, eggs, tofu, seeds and beans.

Do meal plans have options for vegetarians?

If you are a vegetarian you have very specific needs when it comes to nutrition. Your meals need to add in extra protein to ensure that you are getting the right balance of vitamins and nutrients from your food, to ensure optimal health for your body.

Jenny Craig weight loss meal plans do cater to vegetarians. The menu options for vegetarians are many and varied and your Consultant will teach you how to choose meals which will help you to reach your weight loss goals.

Some of the delicious, chef inspired, vegetarian meals on offer are; tasty zucchini and corn muffins or crunchy muesli with fruits for breakfast. Lunch could be a creamy vegetable parpadelle pasta dish or a hearty potato and leek soup. For dinner, you can enjoy a roasted vegetable pizza or a vegetarian fried rice. The sweet and savoury snacks are a delicious option for vegetarians or you could indulge in a salted caramel nut bar or a white chocolate and cranberry cookie.

You will find that the meals are delicious and nutritious, the perfect combination to keep you satisfied while you are trying to lose weight and improve your health. One thing to note is that our products are not vegan and they may contain dairy, egg or animal-derived enzymes such as gelatin.

Are there meal plans for people with food intolerances?

The Jenny Craig menus are designed by accredited practising dietitians and include three meals and one snack per day. The pre-packaged food is clearly marked with ingredients but every person is unique and, so too, are their food intolerances and allergies.

If you have food intolerances or allergies it is important that you discuss this with a Jenny Craig Consultant. In some cases we will be unable to accommodate your dietary requirements.
