You said yes….now what?
The proposal was perfect and you are happily ensconced in the newly engaged bubble. All your girlfriends are over the moon, and as expected, full of questions – the main one being “what about the dress?”….
And so the search begins.
For some women though, the thought of going out and finding their dream wedding dress is quite overwhelming, and rightly so, it’s a big investment for one of the most important days of your life.
So to help ease you into the first few steps to ensure you are happy and positive about the whole process I’ve put together my Top 5 (super practical!) Tips to get you started on the journey of finding your dream wedding dress!
1. Create an album on your phone
Name it “wedding dress inspiration” (original, I know) and start saving all of your favourite shots you see online.
2. Create a Pinterest page named wedding dress inspiration and get pinning
Pinterest is an absolute treasure trove of amazing visual cues and wedding dress inspiration. Plus, you can share your pics/boards with others and most times there is a website attached for easy reference if something really catches your eye.
3. Invest in fashion and bridal magazines
For the more tactile bride-to-be this will be the way to go. If you want to keep the magazine intact, add post it notes to the side and jot down your thoughts, or tear the pages out and pop them on a “wedding vision board” to keep in your bedroom/office.
4. Research wedding dress shops in your area and book in for an appointment
If you’ve gone through steps 1-3 you’d have an idea of what you love, so now it’s time to jump in and get trying! The greatest wedding dress inspiration (and excitement) happens when you start trying dresses on! Take a trusted girlfriend along, and enjoy the time being pampered in the process.
5. Hire a wedding stylist
Having a professional by your side, who will consider things you may not have even thought of, is worth its weight in gold and could save you time and money in the long run.
