Tell us why you choose to partner with Jenny Craig 10 years ago?
I chose Jenny Craig because I was super busy filming X-Factor and three young children and Jenny helped me plan my days. Being a working mum isn’t easy – we make it look easy but it’s not. You do need to take time out for yourself and that’s exactly what I chose to do. After the birth of my third child, it was time I started looking after me. Jenny Craig was a no-brainer for me – I didn’t have to think about anything, I had my breakfast, lunch and dinner already planned, and my snacks. It was the perfect fit!
How do you feel about your body now and how has Jenny Craig impacted this?
I am very confident in my body and what it achieves every single day. I’m now in a place where I put more emphasis on how I feel rather than how I look. Jenny Craig helped me get back to how I was, after having my last baby. We’ve all got our reasons for losing weight and mine was to be able to keep up with my girls. They’re growing up so fast!
What has Jenny Craig taught you over the past 10 years?
Jenny Craig has provided me the tools to know what to eat and when to eat it. I am now making sure that what I learnt from Jenny is passed on to my family. I think kids pick up so many different messages from TV and magazines and so on about what should be considered a healthy body. I’ve always told my daughters eat healthy, try to be active, love the skin you’re in and just be true to yourselves. No matter what people’s opinions are of me I have a positive outlook for my family and me.
What was a common misconception along your weight loss journey?
Some people think that as a celebrity, I have a chef, personal trainer and nannies so I can do lunch with the girls all day. I wish! I am, like many people, a busy working mother with three beautiful children who needs to ensure she is not only looking after her family but looking after herself. Calling Jenny for help was the best decision I ever made.
What did you find the hardest thing about losing weight?
Hard? I don’t let anything get the better of me – if anything, I guess you could say the hardest part of losing weight was giving birth. Jenny Craig made losing the weight easy!
What’s were your biggest cravings and how did you combat them?
I was craving all the carb-heavy foods like chips and pasta and big Sunday roasts. But the great thing is I was able to keep eating those kinds of things – just nowhere near as much. Jenny Craig has got some great dishes on the menu, and they’ve taught me about moderation. And it’s so easy because it’s portion controlled.
What message do you have for others who are trying to lose weight?
Don’t try to do it alone. Call Jenny Craig! It’s so easy and it really isn’t scary dropping the kilos with Jenny. Stick in there, and make sure you celebrate your successes along the way.
