Try this subtly spiced apple recipe for a cosy start to an Autumn morning
Preparation time: 15 minutes
- 2 medium apples, peeled and chopped
- ½ tsp cinnamon
- Star anise (optional)
- 1 tbsp natural sweetener
- ½ tsp vanilla extract
- ¼ cup water
- Place all ingredients in a small saucepan and cover
- Simmer for 10 minutes until the apples have softened.
Dietitian tip: Granny Smith, Fuji and Pink Lady are great varieties of apples to cook with, they tend to hold their shape the best.
