Kyriaki finds Jenny Craig so easy and convenient!
Weight Loss: 32kg
Tell us a bit about you and what life was like before you joined Jenny Craig:
I have a passion for and believe in Employee Safety and Wellbeing, and understand the importance of being healthy, fit and strong. Although I have always maintained a balance between friendships, work, family, career and personal life, one aspect which was out of balance for me for a period of time, was my relationship with food.
I took the time to go within and reflected on how I have been so fortunate over the years to be able to touch so many lives with the work that I do, and the lives of those I have been able to positively impact, so why hadn’t I applied the same principles to myself? Why had I neglected myself?
I realised I needed to show up for myself and show myself some self-love, and the same compassion and empathy that I show to staff and others. I needed a plan and a structure given my schedule.
Why did you decide to join Jenny Craig?
I decided to join Jenny Craig because it was time to make my health a priority.
Being fit and strong requires intention, discipline, drive, consistency and determination. Once I made the decision that I needed to look after my body, I quickly realised that no other product or service on the market offers what Jenny Craig does. Apart from nutritious and balanced meals, the point of difference and game changer is the 1:1 support and guidance.
I wanted something that was going to assist me to make positive lifestyle changes that would be sustainable, long term. My only regret is not making the call sooner!
Can you describe your experience on the Jenny Craig program?
This experience has honestly and wholeheartedly been life changing for me! I am a strong, resilient and independent woman. I am passionate, dedicated and driven. I am a result orientated person and I like to get things done!
In the first month, I challenged myself to walk for an hour a day. I now walk for an hour each morning and at night. I average between 20 and 24,000 steps per day. I then challenged myself to run 5 kilometres three morning per week. I have now signed up to several organised runs for 2023.
‘Start Small, Start Somewhere, Just Start. Do it for You!
Show up for yourself. Show yourself the same love, compassion and empathy you would to a family member or loved one.
You will never regret investing time in Yourself’
Do you have any favourite items from the Jenny Craig menu?
It’s a difficult question, there are too many! I am genuinely impressed with the quality and the variety that is on offer. The menu items are healthy and balanced.
I have enjoyed meals that I would have previously never considered. I am spoilt for choice, it’s so easy and convenient. Some of my favourites include: Roast Chicken and Vegetables, Vegetable Tikka Masala, Pumpkin & Kale Risotto, Pesto Pasta Salad, Moroccan Grain Salad and Tomato and Basil Omelette.
Tell us about your Jenny Craig Coach?
My Coaches are Phenomenal! Mary and Vesna challenge me to see things from a different perspective.
I look forward to reflecting and noting down five big wins, things I am grateful for and things that made me happy during the week and reviewing my progress towards my goals. I have had so many breakthroughs!
They have created a safe space for me to open up and share experiences. I could not have done any of this without their love, support, encouragement, and genuine kindness. They have assisted me to work through some difficult times and challenged my thoughts, beliefs and behaviours. I now have a structure and strategies in place. I have lots to be thankful for!
How do you feel now?
I feel incredible – stronger! I am in the middle of the greatest transformation, mentally, physically and spiritually.
I have received so many beautiful comments from colleagues, friends, and family. I have met so many lovely neighbours who have congratulated me on my consistency and determination. “I love your energy” has been one of my favourite comments to date!
Do you have a standout moment so far you’d like to share?
There are a few of standout moments actually:
1) Reaching my first milestone, which was to get under 100 kilograms;
2) I have lost over 30 kilos;
3) I am over half way to my goal weight;
and 4) My relationship with food has improved.
I have a little way to go to get to my goal, however, I know that this is the only way forward. I am so excited to get to goal this year.
If I can inspire one person to make the change they have been hoping or wishing for, I would tell them…
‘Start Small, Start Somewhere, Just Start. Do it for You! Show up for yourself. Show yourself the same love, compassion and empathy you would to a family member or loved one. You will never regret investing time in Yourself’.
