What was life like before you joined Jenny Craig?
Jemma: I was very lethargic before Jenny Craig, very unmotivated. Just going day by day not really planning ahead. I didn’t want to do anything, I just wanted to be in my own company in the comfort of my own house.
Kaye: I lacked confidence was socially withdrawn and has very low motivation.
What was your ‘aha’ moment? The moment that made you want to begin your weight loss journey?
Jemma: My Mum was joining up for the program, so I thought I’d do it with her. If she wasn’t signing up I probably wouldn’t have, I thought I was just always going to be a bigger person. After talking to the store manager at the Warrnambool centre about how the program worked and what it was about, I knew it was right for me.
Kaye: I was about to turn 50 and was concerned about my physical health as my first grandchild was due in the upcoming October.
Please tell us about your experience on the Jenny Craig program?
Jemma: It’s very methodical and makes it hard to make mistakes, if you just follow the menu to a tee you’ll be fine and it will work. The best thing would be the convenience and not having to cook. I don’t enjoy picking things for tea every night, but with Jenny Craig it’s so easy you don’t even have to think about it, you just grab our food and heat it up and you’re right to go.
Kaye: I have really enjoyed losing weight on the Jenny Craig program. The food is great and the consultants are really supportive.
Do you have any favourite items from the Jenny Craig menu?
Jemma: My favourite would be the chocolate pudding.
Kaye: I really enjoyed the Chicken Parma, Beef Pie and the Sweet Chili Chips.
How do you feel now that you’ve lost the weight?
Suzie has been very supportive on my journey. I know she would always help with any questions that I had and gave me plenty of great advice and ideas.
How do you feel now that you’ve lost the weight?
Jemma: Life today is completely different, I’m still getting to know myself and what I enjoy now is completely different to what it was. I’m more active, I’m going to the gym, and that started as soon as I started to lose the weight. I didn’t have to go to the gym to lose weight, but I wanted to, and I wanted to be more active because I had this new source of energy. My experience with Jenny Craig has brought so many emotions, all of them being positive. I’d wish I’d done it sooner; it’s been easy. Life-changing.
Kaye: Now that I’ve lost 20kg I feel more motivated, happy, healthy and more outgoing.
And what does your Mum think about your weight loss?
Jemma: We’re both incredibly proud of each other and thankful to be able to have done this journey together. Mum and I have found it hard to get used to seeing each other after having lost so much weight. We went shopping and we didn’t even know what sizes of clothes we wore anymore the rest of our family have been shocked, amazed, can’t believe how quickly we’ve lost the weight.
