Mel B’s Top Ten Tips

Ten years ago, Mel B reached her goal weight of 60kg in an impressive 20 weeks.

Here we look back on her journey and her top 10 tips for success:

  1. If you want to lose weight – don’t try to do it alone.  Getting professional help will take the guess work out of losing weight.  With Jenny Craig it’s easy – they provide you with meal plans, delicious food and your own coach to guide you every step of the way.
  2. Weigh yourself regularly – it’ll help keep you on track and inspire your progress
  3. Celebrate milestones and spoil yourself with non-food rewards along the way, I like to spoil myself with a new outfit!
  4.  Keep moving. Walking is my thing; I walk for an hour or two a day – do something that’s enjoyable for you!
  5. Avoid fads and trends– you’ve got to make changes that you’ll stick to for good! Otherwise, you’ll just get back into old habits.
  6.  Eat the rainbow! Make your dinner plate as colourful as possible, with a variety of vegetables.
  7. Don’t deny yourself! Volumize your Jenny Craig meals with vegetables and salads.  It’s all about eating in moderation – if you eat the right foods in the right amount you don’t need to go hungry.
  8. Be Supported! Whether it’s a friend, family member or your Jenny Craig coach, having support and encouragement on a weight loss journey is key.  My Jenny coach and I have become besties.
  9. Stay positive, there is so much pressure to be perfect and not slip up.  But it’s okay if you have a bad week – just make sure you learn from it and stay focused.
  10. Try a hobby if you don’t already have one. We’ve all had times where we eat because we’re bored – keep up the fun and keep yourself busy and you won’t end up standing in front of the fridge.
